Jackie McNall is the Geneseo Parish Outreach Center's "Volunteer of the Month" for the months of November and December 2017. She has been a member of our volunteer helpers for the past four years. She was present at St. Mary's Church when Lucille Kane introduced that community of faith to our mission program here at Geneseo United Methodist Church.
In her 40-year working life, our current recipient made very good use of her Alfred State College medical secretary degree program and upon her retirement, Jackie has continued to do just that by serving in our medical help ministry.
She and her husband, John, reside in the Cottonwood area on Conesus Lake and have a daughter, Meg, who is an elementary teacher in the Honeoye Falls-Lima school district. Meg's husband Brian is also an educator and they are the parents of two sons, Matthew, age 9 and Sean, age 7.
Jackie works with our Parish Outreach Center computer input, updates patient records, tracking financial records and information, as well as keeping track of grant applications, and taking appointments for our clients. She continues to use her medical office management skills in our program, helping to keep everything on track!
In their spare time Jackie and her husband, John, volunteer at Teresa House. They enjoy golfing and living at the lake, where they take rides in their classic mahogany boat. During her childhood, Jackie's family camped near the Camp Stella Maris location, and her brother is also a lake resident now.
Jackie views her volunteer hours spent at the Geneseo Parish Outreach Center as a privilege. In her own words, she sees our medical ministry as a "wonderful resource" for families both near and far. It makes her happy to be able to still be "productive" in her retirement years.
We applaud Jackie McNall and thank her for her service to others through our GPOC.
